Light Readymade

Light Readymade is an optical readymade in which a curved lens is inserted into the handle of a photographic tripod, turning the object into a mobile system for directing light. The tripod allows the lens to be easily moved, tilted, and repositioned, altering the angle of incidence and generating different caustic formations on the surrounding surfaces.

The work brings Rodrigo Morán Silva’s study of light into a simple device, giving light a place to happen, treating it as an end in itself. A slight shift of the lens makes the image change, appear, or vanish.
